The Driver

To ensure the assigned MCA-Mongolia vehicle and its equipment are properly maintained in good mechanical and working order, to provide safe and reliable transportation for MCA-Mongolia staff and guests per their requirements, as well as logistical and customer service support to the Administrative Division of MCA-Mongolia. The Driver reports to the Office Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide safety guidance to team members to ensure safe transportation of people and goods. Understand carrying capacity of vehicle and ensure it is not exceeded.
  • Follow every instruction and policy regarding the use of MCA-Mongolia vehicles.
  • Keep the vehicle clean inside and out, filled with fuel, oil levels checked so the vehicle is available for safe use at all times.
  • Should any mechanical concerns arise, report them immediately so the concern can be inspected and addressed as required.
  • Maintain the vehicle log book with accurate and complete records of each trip and provide to Finance Division as required.
  • Ensure vehicle is at all times equipped with required tools, keys and essential spares, but not limited to, wheel jacks, wheel braces, spare wheels, basic tools, first aid kit, fire extinguisher.
  • Develop an effective preventative maintenance schedule for the vehicle and have the schedule approved by Office Manager. Strictly adhere to the approved schedule and maintain service records accurately.

Evaluation criteria

Education:

  • Automotive technicians, car mechanics and other similar fields have a profession or a similar field.
  • Hold a current and valid Mongolia driver’s license Type B and D.

Work experience:

  • Five years’ driving experience in Ulaanbaatar and countryside.

Communication and languages:

  • Ability to communicate effectively (in English), verbally, with English language proficiency at ILR Level 1 or above.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to plan and monitor vehicle trips efficiently.
  • Possess strong professional and personal ethics, a positive attitude, attentiveness, and maintain strict confidentiality of information.
  • Work closely with other team members toward common goals and build reliable, collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Quickly grasp current issues and make information-based decisions.
  • Able to handle workload, organize, and plan work effectively.
